She served as a Federal Minister of Labour and Social Affairs from 2013 to 2017. During that period she met and worked together with her Luxembourgish counterpart Socialist Labour and Social Affairs Minister Nicolas Schmit. \nSince August 2020\, Nahles serves as President of the Federal Posts and Telecommunications Agency. One month earlier Nicolas Schmit\, now Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights\, announced her appointed as his Special Advisor. Her role is to help strengthen the social dialogue in Europe\, as well as the role of the social partners.
