The former Portuguese Minister of Labour, Social Security & Solidarity (2014-2019) became in October 2020 Special Advisor to Commissioner Nicolas Schmit to advise on the preparation of an Action Plan to implement the European Pillar of Social Rights and on the preparation of the Social Summit on 9 May 2021.
