Following the Council’s General Approach in May 2025 and the intensive discussions thereafter, the time has come to reach an agreement and adopt the Regulation on the public interface connected to the Internal Market Information System (IMI) for the declaration of posted workers (the so-called eDeclaration).
The eDeclaration has the potential to simplify the notification process for companies posting workers abroad. Once implemented by the largest possible number of Member States, it will contribute to the more effective functioning of the Single Market, benefiting businesses, workers, and national economies across the European Union.
To ensure that the eDeclaration delivers tangible benefits for companies, the list of required information points set out in the Annex should remain limited to information that is genuinely necessary for the notification process. This will help avoid unnecessary administrative burdens and complexity while supporting the objective of a simple, efficient, and user-friendly system.
Employers and business representatives call on the Cypriot Presidency and the European Parliament to work towards a trilogue outcome on eDeclaration at the next meeting on 23rd June, with the Annex limited to the necessary information points.
