On Wednesday 26 January the European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA) will organise an online info session to present its 2022 Action Plan. Ceemet Director General will present the employers’ input.
EAfA 2022 Action Plan
The focus of this first info session lies on the Alliance’s 2022 Action Plan that defines the EAfA approach in by six priorities:
- Committing to quality and effective apprenticeships, and encouraging Member States and companies to do likewise, by fostering national apprenticeship coalitions;
- Incentivising support to small and medium-sized enterprises in providing a stable supply of quality and effective apprenticeships</strong>;
- Mobilising local and regional authorities as catalysts for apprenticeships within the local business environment;
- Strengthening social dialogue through a more active involvement of national social partner organisations;
- Proactively engaging European sectoral social dialogue committees in apprenticeships, with a view to agree on joint sectoral pledges</strong>;
- Supporting the representation of apprentices in Member States by relaunching the European Apprentices Network.
Ceemet Director General Delphine Rudelli will share the views of the Metal, Engineering and Technology-based (MET) sector employers on the EAfA Action Plan and its priorities.
Social partner involvement
The representative European social partners of MET sector have long been jointly advocating for first-class Vocational Education & Training (VET) strategies to support the MET sector companies to find right skilled workers to thrive in, and adapt to a fast-evolving world.
Therefore Ceemet and its trade union counterpart industriAll Europe joined in 2018 the EAfA by submitting a Pledge, which both renewed in 2021 in the wake of the establishment of the National Recovery and Resilience Plans.
