EU Industry Days: meet the experts on Skills – Ceemet provides industry insights

At the EU Industry Days 2021 an expert panel with stakeholders of the Pact for Skills is gathering. At the heart of the discussion will be how the large-scale partnerships can work, how networking, knowledge and a guidance hub can help the upskilling and reskilling efforts.

Ceemet is a partner of the Pact for Skills based upon its sound industry experience on skills and the impact of digitalisation.

Incentivise cooperation between public and private organisations

The Pact for Skills is a part of the European Skills Agenda and was launched by the Commission in November 2020. It aims at public and private organisations joining forces and take concrete action to upskill and reskill working age people in Europe.

The Pact can obtain funding via the Recovery and Resilience Facility and the relevant funding instruments under the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027

The Commission initiative aims to support a fair and resilient recovery and deliver on the ambitions of the EU Industrial and SME strategies and the green and digital transitions.

Turning a political decision into a practical one

Ceemet, represented by its Senior Policy Advisor Isabel Sobrino Maté, sits at the panel as recognised European social partner of an industry sector for which the skills gap/shortage is an obstacle.

The Metal, Engineering and Technology-based (MET) industries that Ceemet represents struggle to remain competitive when they have not enough access to right skilled workers.

The success of the Pact will contribute to narrow the skills gap/shortage in the MET sector and beyond.

“The Pact is a political initiative and we will try to make it concrete on the ground – on the ground means a leading role of the local, regional, national social partners/stakeholders.” – Isabel Sobrino Maté, Ceemet Senior Policy Advisor
