On 2 June, Ceemet celebrated their Diamond Jubilee by hosting a much anticipated event at Autoworld, Brussels. This event was 60 years in the making, and it certainly did not disappoint! The special evening was attended by a range of representatives from Brussels, across Europe and further afield who were treated to a feast for the senses.
High level representatives from the European Commission and Parliament, alongside the cream of industry, debated some of the key challenges for our sector. They brought forward their unique insights into the possible solutions which policy makers should put forward in the future. However, it was also a time to celebrate. To celebrate the evolution of industry, the EU, social partnership and many of the other great achievements over the past 60 years.
An impressive spectacle to celebrate industry
Following these interventions, the exhibition showcased three ‘Themes’ – Create, Convene and Connect. These themes told the story of our industrial sector from 1962 to 2022. The participants were guided through the innovation, ingenuity and industrial production which MET companies have demonstrated during this time.
- Create: displayed the wonders of modern industry alongside its humble beginnings.
- Convene: exhibited the best of industry, its people.
- Connect: showcased the interaction between the EU and Ceemet.
All of these aspects together lead to a very successful event and left the participants looking forward to the next 60 years of industry, and certainly to the next Ceemet Jubilee.
