On 22 April, the kick-off meeting of the EU co-funded project Mind@Work – Mental Health in the Workplace: The Employer’s Perspective in Europe took place in Brussels, marking the official start of a new European initiative aimed at promoting mental health and psychosocial well-being across workplaces.
The project seeks to address one of the most pressing challenges facing European societies and labour markets. Mental health has become a strategic priority at the EU level, with a growing recognition of the impact of psychosocial risks on workers’ well-being, organisational performance and economic sustainability.
Recognising that mental health is a complex and multifaceted issue that cannot be addressed by a single actor alone, the project will develop practical tools and evidence-based guidelines to support employers in integrating mental health into organisational strategies and social dialogue processes.
This is the second project of the European Employers’ Institute (EEI). Mind@Work is coordinated by the European Construction Industry Federation (FIEC) and brings together a transnational consortium composed of the research organisation Fondazione ADAPT, supported by associated partners such as Ceemet, ECEG, HOTREC, and EuroCommerce, as well as the affiliated entity ADAPT.
During the two years of the project, partners will carry out research activities, stakeholder consultations and thematic webinars, focusing on key issues such as digitalisation, work organisation, discrimination and their impact on workers’ mental health. These activities will lead to the development of a comprehensive report and an Action Brief providing concrete guidance for employers across Europe.
The kick-off meeting provided an opportunity for partners to align on the project’s objectives, governance structure and work plan, including coordination mechanisms, research activities and communication strategies. It also set the foundations for effective cooperation among consortium members and the timely implementation of project activities.
