Ceemet joins SoDi, a European project to support the implementation of the industrial deal with strong social dialogue in metal sector

Ceemet is happy to announce its participation in SoDi – Supporting the Implementation of the European Industrial Deal with Strengthened Social Dialogue in the European Metal Sector. This EU-funded project aims to reinforce social dialogue across Europe’s metalworking industries, ensuring that the transition towards a greener and more digital economy is both fair and inclusive.

As Europe moves forward with the European Green Deal and embraces rapid digital transformation, industrial sectors face major structural changes. The metal, engineering, and technology-based industries are particularly impacted by these shifts. In this context, strong and forward-looking cooperation between social partners – employers and trade unions – is more important than ever. SoDi responds to this need by providing a platform to improve dialogue, exchange best practices, and promote mutual understanding across national and European levels.

The project has four main goals: to build the capacity of social partners, promote structured and effective dialogue, improve working conditions, and secure a just transition to a greener and more digital industrial future. This means ensuring that employers and workers can navigate changes in technology and environmental policy with the best possible approach.

SoDi brings together a wide range of partners from across Europe. In addition to European social partners Ceemet and industriAll Europe, the project involves organisations from Poland, Bulgaria, Serbia, North Macedonia, Germany and France. Through this broad coalition, the project will carry out comparative research, organise national training sessions and international peer exchanges to develop a European policy proposal and action plan. The initiative will also create an e-learning platform and host an international conference, supported by a wide-reaching communication strategy.

As a European employers’ representative, Ceemet will contribute practical knowledge from industry and advocate for solutions that balance competitiveness with social fairness. Together with its partners, Ceemet is helping to build a more resilient, sustainable, and socially responsible future for the European metal sector.

Project updates will be shared via social media and the websites of participating organisations, so stay tuned!
